It's all nice on ice, alright.

Hi everyone, it has been a while. I was going to offer some sort of excuse, I've been busy, school has been tough, personal life gets in the way, I just cant find the time to blog. Then I thought about all of those things. I use the same excuses in the context of spending time with God. At times I put it off and say "I'll do it later" etc. But thats not good. We need to be spending time with God, one on one. He is a personal God, and desires a relationship with us.
I was looking through a notebook I found, and I have this written in it:

1 Corinthians 6:12
Practical atheism
Too often do we verbally express a belief in God, but or actions reflect atheism. We look at things with the mindset of physical pleasure vs. clear conscious. This stems from a lack of understanding of spiritual joy.
The question to ask: AM I GLORIFYING GOD IN THIS?
Is it beneficial?

1 Corinthians 6:12
"Everything is permissible for me"—but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"—but I will not be mastered by anything.

Usually I offer some commentary about what I am typing, and I might do that at a later date with this one. For now, however, I want you to think about that. I am going to be. Are we glorifying God in all we do?

1 Corinthians 10:31
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

A selection from "Falling Slowly" by Glen Hansard, featured in the film "Once":

Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can't go back
Moods that take me and erase me
And I'm painted black
You have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It's time that you won
